I’m a professional journalist and an amateur chef.

I spend my time looking for a story, something to eat, and the words to describe it all. I love a culinary classic, but I find it fun to look for new ways to do old things.

In the kitchen I tend to follow my heart and not a recipe. Rules are great, especially in baking, but I learned to cook by using my grandmother’s philosophy: “A little bit of this and a little bit of that.” Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make the same meal twice, and that’s one reason why I created this blog. I’m documenting every seasoned step I take with hopes of sharing the love, which is the other reason I’ve gone dishing.
